JAKARTA- The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) announced Indonesia’s export data for the period of June 2021. Exports increased sharply, according to market forecasts.
On Thursday (15/7/2021), Head of BPS Margo Yuwono reported last month’s export value was US$18.55 billion. An increase of 54.46% compared to the same period the previous year ( year-on-year / yoy). Meanwhile, compared to May 2021 ( month-to-month / mtm), exports rose 9.52%.
The market consensus compiled by CNBC Indonesia estimates that exports will grow 49.185% yoy. Meanwhile, the Reuters version of the consensus resulted in a projected export growth of 49.9% yoy.
“Indonesian crude oil prices rose 91.4% yoy. Meanwhile, several non-oil and gas commodities, coal rose 148.94% yoy, nickel rose 41.27%, tin rose 93.03%. This will affect the size of exports,” he said. Margo at a press conference virtually.
