Technology is invading every conceivable aspect of our lives, from our homes, our workplaces and even our schools. Our children are intuitively connected to their electronic gadgets; data analytics is transforming whole industries; the school of the future will not be restricted by physical buildings; learning will be online with teachers imparting critical thinking.

We must prepare for a future where hybrid schools – schools that combine face-to-face education in a specific way with online education are the norm.

Real-time data is already helping to tailor learning experiences for each student. Gone will be the days when students are ranked according to their exam grades as each student can be monitored according to his or her understanding of a topic and the lessons can be adjusted accordingly.

In the future, we may even have classrooms where students of mixed ages learn side-by-side where enjoyment and well being is paramount to the learning process.

Exhibition

The 3-day EXHIBITION will be alongside the Habibie Festival of Technology and Innovation which has a guaranteed attendance of over 100,000 visitors, including 1,200 schools, 6,500 teachers & 40,000 students. The Exhibition will be fully experiential and interactive. It will include touch and feel technology as well as engaging discussions and dialogue between teachers, students and administrators.

The exhibition will allow companies and entrepreneurs to showcase their products and technologies that will transform education from AI to Learning Analytics; from Gamification to Virtual Classrooms.

The jobs of tomorrow are going to be very different from the jobs of today.
Therefore, it seems self-evident that the education of today will have to be very different from the education of yesterday.What aspects of traditional education will soon be or already are outdated?
What should education provide to ensure that it becomes and remains relevant?

What are 21st Century Skills, required by 21st Century jobs, and how can students attain them?

These are some of the questions the Youth Conference of the Education Forum and Exhibition 2019 organised by the Indonesian Economic Forum seeks to address and hopefully begin to answer.The Youth Conference will be divided into three parts; a workshop, then a forum, and finally a challenge!
