Cikarang, January 14, 2025 – The Indian Ambassador to Indonesia, His Excellency Sandeep Chakravorty, made a strategic visit to Jababeka Industrial Estate in Cikarang. Accompanied by Mr. S.D. Darmono, Founder of PT. Jababeka Tbk, and Mr. Sachin V. Gopalan, Founder of PT Chairos International Ventures and India News Desk, the visit focused on exploring collaboration opportunities in industry, education, and environmental sustainability.
Indonesia is an attractive destination for Indian companies, with around 100 already operating and more planning to enter the market. Indonesia serves as a gateway to synergize in various sectors, including technology, manufacturing, healthcare, education, and logistics. This aligns with President Prabowo’s eight growth priorities. During the visit, Ambassador Chakravorty commented, “Jababeka Industrial Park represents the future of sustainable industrial development. This visit has been inspiring, particularly in witnessing the synergy between technology, education, and environmental sustainability.”
Mr. S.D. Darmono emphasized that Jababeka Industrial Estate, with its comprehensive infrastructure, is a strategic partner for Indian investors. “Jababeka is well-suited for high-tech industries, hosting numerous tenants in automotive, electronics, and pharmaceuticals,” Darmono stated. He also highlighted the long-standing technological collaboration between Indonesia and India, citing the construction of Borobudur Temple as an enduring testament to this partnership.
Tour of Jababeka Industrial Estate
Ambassador Chakravorty began his visit with a tour of the Jababeka Industrial Estate, home to over 2,000 companies from 34 countries. The estate is one of Southeast Asia’s largest industrial hubs, with facilities designed to support Indonesia’s economic growth and global competitiveness. Jababeka is committed to attracting high-tech companies that not only enhance investment but also advance Indonesia’s human resources.
Visit to Indonesia Movieland, Jababeka
The delegation then visited Indonesia Movieland, a destination designed as a hub for film production and creative content. Movieland is a 36-hectare integrated development focused on film industry growth. As the first one-stop film and television production center in Indonesia, Movieland offers complete infrastructure, including production studios, post-production facilities, and supporting services such as accommodation and logistics for creative workers.
Exploring Medical City and Educational Facilities
The Ambassador also visited the Medical City area, aimed at becoming a leading healthcare service center in Indonesia. This facility is designed to provide internationally standard healthcare services and foster medical innovation. The visit continued to President University, including the Faculty of Medicine. The university plays a vital role in producing the next generation capable of competing in the global era. The Faculty of Medicine, in particular, symbolizes the advancement of education in the medical field, with modern facilities and an internationally recognized curriculum.
Visit to Jababeka Golf Club
As part of the visit, the delegation enjoyed the beautiful views and world-class facilities at Jababeka Golf Club. This experience highlighted Jababeka’s efforts to integrate lifestyle with sustainable industrial development.
Tree Planting Ceremony
The event concluded with a symbolic tree planting ceremony by Ambassador Chakravorty and Mr. Sachin V. Gopalan in front of the Faculty of Medicine, President University. This initiative symbolizes a shared commitment to environmental sustainability and the strengthening of bilateral relations.
