Dirgayuza Setiawan, Editor of the Nation Transformation Strategy book authored by Prabowo Subianto, initiated the panel discussion by presenting a comprehensive framework aimed at achieving 8% GDP growth. He outlined several key solutions to the pressing challenges Indonesia currently faces, including the protection of all citizens, enhancement of welfare, and education of the population.

By engaging with the community, the administration can foster a collective effort to address the significant issues in Indonesia. Ultimately, the goal is to create a robust foundation for sustainable growth and development during Prabowo Subianto’s administration, enabling the nation to tackle its challenge.

The second session, presented by Sinarmas Land, focused on Indonesia’s strategy to unlock global opportunities through Special Economic Zones (SEZs) for innovation, investment, and sustainable growth. This session was particularly discussing the development of Bumi Serpong Damai (BSD). Located just 35 kilometers southwest of Jakarta, BSD is a planned city that serves as a prime example of an SEZ. It is strategically designed to foster four vital industries: medical, education, digital, and creative sectors, making it an ideal location for both expats and locals looking to establish businesses.

BSD serves as an attractive entry point for businesses aiming to enter the Southeast Asian market. With a strong emphasis on healthcare and digital solutions, it provides an ideal environment for companies to address the growing demand for innovative healthcare services. By incorporating AI technology in hospitals and promoting Special Economic Zones (SEZs), Indonesia is enhancing the efficiency and advancement of its healthcare system, reinforcing its status as a regional leader. This integration of AI improves triage efficiency and attracts significant investment, aligning with Indonesia’s strategic role in the ASEAN markets. SEZs like Bumi Serpong Damai (BSD) are essential for driving digital healthcare transformation, facilitating the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and streamlined processes.

Mulyawan Gani, Chief Transformation Officer of Sinarmas Land, emphasized the importance of enhancing delivery standards in vital industries, particularly in the medical sector in BSD. He stated, “It’s not just about attracting investment; it’s about contributing to the ecosystem and fostering social progress and growth.”

During the discussion, Sachin Gopalan, Founder and CEO, Indonesia Economic Forum, highlighted the importance of spreading development across various areas rather than concentrating on a single one and collaborating with local governments. It is essential to prepare these regions for the challenges that come with managing a vibrant SEZ. “There are a lot of bilateral opportunities for collaboration within Special Economic Zones,” Sachin noted, underscoring the growth potential that SEZs can provide.

Gani remarked, “With these initiatives, we hope to encourage inbound investment into the city. This approach helps BSD stay relevant and vibrant, as we’re bringing in the right industries.” His insights further highlight the significant opportunities that Indonesia’s Special Economic Zones, particularly BSD, offers fostered sustainable growth and development.

“Through our international landing path, companies can gain direct access to the Indonesian market,” said Bayu Seto, Partner at Living Lab Ventures, during his presentation on Sinarmas Land’s development plan. His statement addresses the challenges faced by companies looking to expand into Indonesia without a clear market entry strategy.

Ultimately, the Prabowonomics forum underscores Indonesia’s ambitious economic vision and the vital role of Special Economic Zones like BSD, developed by Sinarmas Land, in fostering investment and growth. By prioritizing industries such as healthcare and digital solutions, Sinarmas Land is positioning BSD as a hub for innovation. As the country prepares for a new era under Prabowo Subianto’s leadership, these initiatives are essential for unlocking Indonesia’s potential on the global stage.
